Mohamed F. Osman, MD, MBA, DABS, RPVI, FACS, FSVS serves as President and Chief Medical Officer of the Jobst Vascular Institute and Chief of the Vascular Service Line at ProMedica. In this dual leadership role, he oversees the region’s most comprehensive vascular programs, encompassing vascular and endovascular surgery, vascular medicine, wound care, clinical research, and both vascular surgery and vascular medicine fellowships.
A visionary healthcare executive and accomplished academic surgeon, Dr. Osman provides strategic leadership across clinical, operational, and academic domains. He leads a multidisciplinary network of surgeons, physicians, and allied specialists dedicated to delivering the highest-quality vascular and endovascular care across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
Under Dr. Osman's leadership, the Jobst Vascular Institute continues its longstanding legacy of innovation and excellence in clinical care, research, and education—advancing outcomes and expanding access through the integration of cutting-edge technology, evidence-based practice, and collaborative care models.
Before assuming his current role, Dr. Osman served as Director of the Aortic Center at the University of Toledo Medical Center, where he also held multiple academic and administrative appointments, including Associate Professor of Surgery, Associate Program Director for General Surgery, and Assistant Director of the Surgery Clerkship. He previously served as Vascular Surgery Section Chief at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit and as Medical Director for Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
Board certified in general surgery, surgical critical care, and vascular surgery; Dr. Osman is also a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the Society for Vascular Surgery (FSVS). His dedication to advancing vascular care has earned him recognition from national and international societies, including membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society.
An accomplished scholar and educator, Dr. Osman has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented widely at national and international conferences. He is an editor and co-author of Lange Vascular and Endovascular Surgery: Clinical Diagnosis and Management (McGraw-Hill, 2023). His research interests include aortic pathology, limb preservation, artificial intelligence in vascular surgery, and innovation in medical education and simulation.
Dr. Osman completed his vascular surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, surgical critical care fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and general surgery residency at the University of Toledo, where he also earned an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the College of Business and Innovation.
