On December 13, 2023, Tony Marchese and his wife, Michelle, shared Tony's incredible health journey at the ProMedica Total Rehab leadership meeting. Tony also played two songs on his violin for the group to express his gratitude for the truly life-changing care he received from the Neurology Total Rehab Team. He specifically thanked his therapists, Robyn Pitock, OT; Jacquelyn Olzak, SLP; and Heather Reynolds, PT.
In 2020, Tony began his journey with ProMedica Total Rehab after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He could barely walk or talk, and his health was continuing to decline to the point where they had to purchase a new home without stairs. He was also unable to participate in the things he loved, including playing the violin.
Through the work of physical, occupational and speech therapy, Tony is back to playing the violin and enjoying life with his wife of almost 50 years by his side.
Tony wanted to spread the word about the amazing care he received. He called the ProMedica Call Center and was connected to the ProMedica Foundation Grateful Patient Program. They began planning this special moment for Tony to express his gratitude by donating his time and talents.
On December 20, 2023, Tony surprised his care team at the ProMedica Neurosciences Center by playing violin for them.
