Inventions that Change Lives

By partnering with ProMedica, your invention has the potential to reach patients in our region and beyond. Inventors also receive 40% of the proceeds resulting from the licensure of their invention.

When it comes to ideas, we’re looking for viable inventions that can become commercially-viable products within the life sciences, medical or health information technology fields.

Be Original

A new concept or product that does not infringe on an existing patent.

Be Practical

It must function in “the real world” and meet a clinical need.

Be Patentable

The concept, or "intellectual property," must be capable of being defined and protected by patent law.

Be Viable

It must have the potential to be commercially successful.

Who’s Eligible to Participate?

ProMedica Innovations is interested in ideas from people in all areas of ProMedica and ProMedica’s communities, including:

  • Doctors.
  • Nurses.
  • EMTs.
  • Clinical staff.
  • Lab technicians.
  • Support personnel.
  • Anyone from a ProMedica community who has an idea that will benefit patients and hospital staff.

Make sure that your idea is original – a quick Google search can let you know if someone else has had your idea first.

Clint Steigerwalt, Director

Clint works with local inventors and community members to advance unique health care-related concepts. He bases his work on the belief that innovation and collaboration are keys to success and that local leaders know what is best for their communities. Clint has worked with inventors on medical devices and health information technology to advance their concepts through the commercialization process. Clint has completed courses in Blanchard Leadership Training and The Innovation Academy by The American Hospital Association, and he holds both an MBA from The University of Toledo and a BS from Ohio Northern University.
