ProMedica is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Andrade as President of ProMedica Physician Group (PPG), effective Monday, January 5, 2026.
In this key role, Andrade is responsible forthe overall strategic direction, operational performance, and financial stability of PPG. This appointment follows the strategic decision to shift the responsibilities of this role from the chief medical officer to a dedicated position. The current chief medical officer, Kent Bishop, MD, will continue in that system-level role, and Andrade will report directly to him.
Before joining ProMedica, Andrade served as chief operating officer at Medical Associates P.C. in Dubuque, Iowa, and at DuPage Medical Group in the greater Chicago area. His extensive health care experience includes overseeing operations for thousands of employees, positively impactingthe care of millions of patients. Additionally, Andrade held the position of system vice president,chief transformation officer at Advocate Aurora Health in Chicago, where he developed management systems that enhanced capacity and safety while reducing care costs.
Having held operational leadership positions at Nike and Alcoa, Andradealso possessesdiverse operations experience in other industries, including sporting goods, aerospace, automotive, and construction.

Andrade holds credentials from Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program and Executive Programs in Healthcare and Strategy. Additionally, he earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh – Katz Graduate School of Business and a degree in mechanical engineering from Fundação Armando AlvaresPenteado in São Paulo, Brazil.
