ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital has been nationally recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review for being one of 21 U.S. hospitals to receive top marks on patients' Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) surveys for nurse communication.
HCAHPS is a national, standardized survey of hospital patients about their experiences during a recent inpatient hospital stay. This recognition means that at least 93 percent of patients at Fostoria Community Hospital responded that 'nurses always communicated well.'
“The team of nurses at Fostoria Community Hospital are extremely deserving of this recognition,” said Jodi Rucker, CNO/VP of Patient Care Services, Fostoria Community Hospital. “Communication is a key component in nursing, and the HCAHPS surveys show how our nurses have excelled in that area.”
The figures are from CMS' Hospital Compare website and represent HCAHPS scores collected from Jan. 1, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2019, the most recent data available. To view the full list, click here. Hospitals with fewer than 100 completed surveys were excluded from this list.
