ProMedica to Build Combined Emergency and Urgent Care Facility in Perrysburg

ProMedica today announced plans to construct a full-service emergency department and urgent care to meet the growing healthcare needs of residents and businesses in Perrysburg and surrounding areas. This new facility will serve as the second freestanding location of the ProMedica Toledo Hospital emergency department.

With a planned location on Lake Vue Drive in Perrysburg, near the US 20/23 (Fremont Pike) and I-75 interchange, the new emergency department will enhance access to clinical care for many in the community. ProMedica already provides essential services to a significant number of patients from Perrysburg and beyond, making this expansion an important step in delivering emergent care even closer to home.

The full-service emergency department will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and resources, enabling patients to receive on-site services, including CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests, 24/7. Patients will have access to comprehensive care for a variety of emergency conditions, including chest pain, stroke, severe shortness of breath, trauma injuries, allergic reactions, severe gastrointestinal symptoms, seizures, severe pain, uncontrollable bleeding, broken bones, cuts, and burns.

When additional advanced treatment, surgery, or inpatient care is required, patients will be stabilized and swiftly transported to the top-rated, nationally recognized ProMedica Toledo Hospital main campus for further assistance.

In addition, the new facility will feature an urgent care section, designed to address minor injuries and illnesses. The combination of a full-service emergency department and urgent care within the same location, both staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, ensures that patients receive the highest-quality, most appropriate and cost-effective care without delay.

ProMedica’s new Perrysburg location will follow the same all-in-one emergency and urgent care model as its Maumee location, which cares for a significant number of patients daily and consistently achieves high patient satisfaction ratings.

Expanding this model to Perrysburg demonstrates ProMedica's continued commitment to improving access to high-quality, patient-centered care in the communities it serves. Construction of the estimated 12,000-square-foot facility is expected to begin in fall 2026, following applicable zoning approvals, with a grand opening scheduled for late fall 2027.
