You need fast medical transportation and expert care, on the road or in the air. With ProMedica Air and Mobile, you'll be cared for by licensed and certified medical technicians, paramedics, critical care nurses and respiratory therapists.

Transportation For Non-Emergencies


Need to get home from the hospital or to a doctor's appointment? Our professional Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) make it possible. Ambulettes are equipped with defibrillators, satellite navigation, oxygen, and standard and wide wheelchairs. Wheelchair vans are equipped with 800-pound wheelchair lifts. Critical Care: When Minutes and Seconds Count


Critical illness or injury? You'll be treated by our specialized paramedics and critical care nurses. All air and ground ambulances are equipped for basic and advanced life-support. Many include sophisticated equipment for bariatric patients.

ProMedica Air uses Metro Aviation pilots and mechanics. Ongoing training, certification, and safety programs ensure the safety of our air transportation patients and crew. Metro Life Flight owns and operates ProMedica Air's helicopters and maintains operational control for ProMedica Air.

Neonatal Specialty Teams


Our expert neonatal team goes with you and your baby should you need transport to another hospital due to critical illness. Our specialized neonatal team is trained in the latest life-saving techniques. Your baby will be cared for by a nurse, a respiratory therapist, and either a nurse practitioner or a neonatologist. And they're ready around the clock, by air or by ground ambulance.

Community Education


ProMedica Air Transport Observation Program

The ProMedica Air Transport Observation Program (TOPS) is available to public safety, hospital, and pre-hospital care providers who utilize ProMedica Air services.

Fly with us for one eight-hour or twelve-hour day shift and learn about our program, critical care transport, and aircraft safety.

Who Can Observe:

  • Public safety personnel (EMTs, Paramedics, Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers, Dispatchers)
  • Medical personnel (Nurses, Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers)
  • We are not accepting students at this time.

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Good physical health. No pregnant observers.
  • Weight must be less than 220 lbs (You will be weighed upon arrival at the base)
  • Must present photo ID and proof of current certification/licensure
  • Review the TOPS guidelines
