Curriculum

13 x 4-week block rotations over 12 months

  • 1 block with MFM in Toledo OH
  • 0.5 blocks with MFM US department in Toledo OH
  • 1 block in rural obstetrics
  • 10.5 blocks of OB experiences in Monroe, MI

Continuity Experiences

  • 2 half days per week precepting or providing care at the Family Medicine clinic
  • 1 half day per month at the local free clinic, Faithworks – FM/Gyn/OB care
  • Newborn nursery rounds as attending, supervising FM residents 12 weeks of the year

Call Responsibilities

  • 1:3 night call at PMRH (except month on rural OB)
  • 2 weekends per block call at PMRH

Required Procedures

  • 250 unique prenatal patients
    • 15 with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
    • 10 with diabetic disorders of pregnancy
    • 5 patients with SUD/OUD
  • 150 vaginal deliveries – preformed or through supervising a resident
  • 10 IUD placements
  • 10 dilations and evacuation/curettage
  • 10 colposcopic exams
  • 60 C-sections as primary surgeon
  • 50 ultrasounds
    • 10 for IUP
    • 10 for fetal HR
    • 10 for AFI
    • 10 for presentation
    • 10 for early dating
  • American Board of Physician Specialties – OB Family Medicine Board Certification upon graduation
