ProMedica Starts Scheduling Phase 1b COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments in Michigan

In accordance with Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s announcement that Michigan will start the COVID-19 Vaccination Phase 1b next week, ProMedica’s Michigan-based hospitals will begin scheduling COVID-19 vaccination appointments for individuals in that category.

Those individuals include:

• Michiganders age 65 and older
• Essential workers working in the state of Michigan as one of the following:
• Police officers
• First responders
• Frontline county, state and federal workers
• Staff members in jails, prisons and shelters
• PreK-12 teachers and childcare providers

How to Schedule Vaccination Appointments:

Walk-in appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations are not accepted. Patients must have a scheduled appointment to be vaccinated.

ProMedica will administer the COVID-19 vaccines currently available while working closely with state and county health departments to obtain additional vaccines. Please note that ProMedica will need to temporarily close scheduling when its vaccine supply runs out, but will reopen scheduling as soon as its hospitals receive additional shipments from the state.

ProMedica Patients Ages 65+

ProMedica patients ages 65 and older should be on the lookout for a message in their ProMedica MyChart accounts beginning on January 9 that will enable them to schedule their vaccine appointments online. Please note that not all qualified patients will receive the message on day one. It may be days or even weeks before they receive their message to schedule, depending on how quickly ProMedica receives additional vaccines. Scheduling through ProMedica MyChart will be the easiest and most effective way for these individuals to secure their appointments. If ProMedica patients do not have their ProMedica MyChart accounts set up yet, they can do so by visiting promedica.org/mychartsignup.

Non-ProMedica Patients and Essential Workers

Individuals who are not ProMedica patients – or – are ProMedica patients under age 65 who are in one of the approved essential worker categories for Phase 1b would need to call 567-585-1900, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., to schedule a vaccine appointment. Please note that this phone number is not for ProMedica patients ages 65 and older since they will be prompted to schedule their vaccination appointments in ProMedica MyChart to accommodate the large number of individuals in that group.
