Nutrition Counseling

Understanding how foods impact our health and well-being can be overwhelming. Nutritional Counseling is a personalized approach to a proper and balanced nutrition plan, providing you with the knowledge and tools to make healthy choices.

What is nutrition counseling?

  • It is one-on-one counseling with a Registered Dietitian (RD) to help you develop a personal nutrition plan.
  • Together, you and your dietitian will determine and reach your wellness goals.
  • This program is tailored to your specific needs and desires, which may include weight loss and management, proper nutrition after surgery or illness, food allergies, minimizing health risks, and much more.

What does it include?

  • Assessment of nutrition history and specific nutrient needs
  • Health history review
  • Goal setting
  • Diet navigation and meal planning apps
  • Cost: FREE! No charge to OC employees and their dependents 18 yrs. and older

Abbey Crum, MFN, RD, LD, CDCES

Abbey is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Education and Care Specialist. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Food and Nutrition from Bowling Green State University. She also completed her dietetic internship at BGSU.

Abbey has worked in a variety of healthcare settings that have shaped her professional experience and passion for helping others live their healthiest lives. She has experience with weight loss and gain, body composition, diabetes, high cholesterol, blood pressure, kidney disease, sports nutrition, general wellness, and disease prevention. Your unique needs and preferences will be used to develop an individualized plan to reach your desired goals. When working with her, you can expect to be listened to, respected, and supported with your health goals.
