Pediatric Intensive Outpatient Mental Health Treatment

Our Pediatric Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers structured, short-term mental health treatment for children and adolescents who need more support than traditional outpatient care but do not need inpatient hospitalization.

The program focuses on:

  • Stabilizing symptoms.
  • Developing healthy coping skills.
  • Encouraging active family involvement in the healing process.

This level of care helps bridge the gap between outpatient therapy and inpatient treatment. Providing the right support at the right time.

Who We Serve

We serve adolescents, ages 13-17, who have been diagnosed with a mental health condition that impacts daily function in relationships, school or vocation.

To participate in the program, participants must be able to:

  • Participate in group programming.
  • Follow basic safety procedures.
  • Attend weekly provider appointments for medication management
  • Attend three, three-hour sessions of group therapy a week.

Before beginning the program, all prospective patients undergo an assessment by our counseling team. This assessment helps determine if the IOP is the most effective level of care for their current needs.

Our care team may recommend a different treatment option for patients experiencing the following symptoms or conditions:

  • Active suicidal or homicidal risk requiring inpatient care.
  • Severe cognitive or mental health symptoms that prevent participation in intensive group activities.
  • Medical conditions or uncontrolled substance abuse requiring care outside of IOP scope.

Services Provided

Our IOP provides a variety of mental health services including:

  • Evidence-based group therapy sessions.
  • Weekly medication management by an IOP provider.
  • Individualized treatment planning.
  • Psychoeducation and skill-building activities.
  • Crisis planning and safety monitoring.

Most insurances cover intensive outpatient treatment. Check with your insurance for coverage details.
