Clinical Trials and Research

Clinical trials are vital to our institute. They give patients a way to access enhanced vascular care, and they also help us advance new treatments, drugs and devices. Each year, Jobst Vascular Institute has upward of 30 clinical trials in progress. Based on the goals of the study, they can span a few days or years.

The establishment of a dedicated vascular research program helps make Jobst Vascular Institute a nationally and internationally recognized center of excellence. Jobst Vascular research involves both retrospective and prospective studies, on clinical outcomes, devices and medications.

Each year, research work is submitted for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presented at vascular and wound conferences, such as the Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Vascular Medicine, American Venous Forum and Symposium on Advanced Wound Care.

Education and Fellowship Program

Our team offers a variety of education in many disciplines. Our physicians help educate health care professionals, as well as the future medical providers of tomorrow. We offer education and training to providers in the ProMedica system through live and online educational seminars, the annual Experience Vascular Nursing and Wound Care Conferences and provide many public talks as outreach in the communities we serve.

Our academic affiliation with the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, as well as other institutions across the region, helps educate fellows and supports high-quality care in our area for generations to come.

Clinical Trials and Research

Clinical trials give patients a way to access enhanced vascular care, close to home. Each year, Jobst Vascular Institute has as many as 30 clinical trials in progress.

There are many areas of research through Jobst Vascular Institute. Some conditions we study include aortic aneurysm, carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease, varicose veins and wound care. Our studies look at clinical outcomes, health devices and medications. Based on the goal, a study can last a few days or even years.
