The Blood Management team is excited to offer increased services with a new office location at the Toledo and Toledo Children's Hospitals. As of February 1, 2018, Blood Management will be on hand to assist clinical staff Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m – 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. They will also be available after business hours via on call service. The new office is located in the JOBST towers and is housed within the PAT department. To contact a Blood Management RN for inpatient matters dial blood management at 419-824-1222, option #2.
The Blood Management team works diligently to advance ProMedica's standards of care regarding appropriate use of blood and blood products in the treatment of patients. The goal of blood management is to improve health, increase safety, and reduce healthcare costs through the advancement of scientific knowledge and practice. Blood Management RNs continue to support patient rights to refuse blood transfusions.
