As ProMedica continues to implement its plan to utilize ProMedica Bay Park Hospital as the system’s centralized facility for COVID-19 patients, it is transitioning certain units within the hospital to prepare for impending system patient care needs. One such transition relates to Bay Park’s labor and delivery unit, which will accommodate the system’s suspected/confirmed COVID-19 maternity patients that may deliver in the near future.
To that end, ProMedica is contacting all current patients who previously pre-registered to deliver at Bay Park in the coming weeks. The health system is working with those patients to identify options to deliver at another ProMedica hospital, specifically ProMedica Flower or ProMedica Memorial (Fremont) Hospitals, as well as ProMedica Toledo Hospital. These hospitals are within 20-30 minutes of Bay Park and offer outstanding clinical care and exceptional, family-centered experiences for mom and baby.
ProMedica is looking forward to caring for these expectant mothers and appreciates their understanding as we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic as a community.
