ProMedica is pleased to announce that its Board Chairman, Robert (Bob) LaClair, is among the 2022 class of Modern Healthcare’s Excellence in Governance award. The Excellence in Governance program recognizes influential individuals who serve on a board of directors for a health care organization and foster advancement in culture, mission and performance.
“We are thrilled to launch the rebranded Excellence in Governance Awards program with such an esteemed group of honorees. Each of these outstanding directors exemplifies the qualities of excellence in governance: loyalty and service; strategic and innovative vision; and commitment to fostering the values of accountability, diversity, equity and sustainability,' said Fawn Lopez, publisher of Modern Healthcare. 'They are invaluable assets to the organizations and communities they serve and to the advancement of health care. We congratulate and thank them for their leadership and dedication.”
As part of Modern Healthcare’s 2022 Excellence in Governance Class, Mr. LaClair was recognized for moving through the ranks with ProMedica’s boards and having served the organization for 17 years to date. The publication noted that he has served on nearly a dozen ProMedica committees in the past year and led with a focus on health equity, diversity and strategic growth. Also noted is the fact that he has helped refine the ProMedica board charter to galvanize inclusion efforts and supported work that has made ProMedica a national leader in addressing the social determinants of health.
“Through the years, Bob LaClair has provided invaluable counsel and support to ProMedica’s boards and staff,” said Randy Oostra, president and CEO of ProMedica. “Bob led our parent board through the most challenging times of the pandemic while continuing to help advance the organization’s long-term goals. We are extremely grateful for his service and dedication to helping improve the health and well-being of our communities.”
This year’s honorees are profiled in the April 18 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine and can be viewed here (digital subscription required).
