ProMedica Foundation Launches Donation Campaign to Help Uplift Health Care Employees

ProMedica Foundation announced a new fundraising campaign that enables the community to show ProMedica caregivers their appreciation. The campaign, appropriately titled ‘Share the Love’, will run from Valentine’s Day through the end of February.

Early on during the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an outpouring of public support for health care workers that included gestures like meal donations, sign displays and sidewalk chalk messages. Those gestures were greatly appreciated, especially as caregivers dealt with much uncertainty about the new disease. But as the pandemic has lingered, those gestures waned. Yet, with repeated surges, health care workers across the industry have continued to face some of the greatest challenges in their careers.

Occupational strain and mental stress are a reality of an extended pandemic. But, now that we are on the downside of the largest surge to date, ProMedica Foundation sees an opportunity for the community to help uplift weary health care workers.

The ‘Share the Love’ fundraising campaign enables community members to donate any amount and no amount is too small. The campaign also offers community members the opportunity to provide a special message of encouragement to health care workers. The messages will be printed on green paper hearts and displayed in employee areas at ProMedica health care facilities across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

The campaign will also include Match Mondays. That means ProMedica Foundation will match every donation that comes in on the Mondays throughout the campaign up to $5000.00. Those dates include February 14, 21 and 28.

All funds raised through the campaign will go directly toward providing uplifting experiences for ProMedica caregivers at work. The experiences will be at the discretion of team leaders to help ensure they are tailored to individual teams and environments. Experiences could include things like special catered meals, chair massage sessions, aromatherapy, fun team-building activities and more.

To donate to the ‘Share the Love’ fundraising campaign and offer a message of encouragement for ProMedica caregivers, text “Love” to 36413.
