ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital Finalized Name Change to Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital and Completes Interior Renovations

ProMedica is pleased to announce that ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital has officially been renamed ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital.

The name change is in honor of Russell J. Ebeid and his family for their extensive generosity to ProMedica and for their compassion to help children.

Dawn Buskey, president of ProMedica Toledo and Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospitals said, “Philanthropist Russell J. Ebeid dedicated much of his life to helping others. We’re honored that our children’s hospital now carries his name in memory of his impact on community health. Mr. Ebeid’s generosity helped ProMedica establish Ebeid Hospice Residence, ProMedica Ebeid Institute and ProMedica Ebeid Neighborhood Promise.”

In addition to the name, significant renovations were made to the hospital to help bring a new era of pediatric care to Toledo.

The renovations include:

• A new pediatric intensive care unit with 15 private rooms that provide plenty of space for patients, family members and caregivers. These rooms have pullout couches for parents to provide comfort and better sleeping conditions when they are with their children.
• Updated, large pediatric acute care rooms.
• Easier access to the helipad for pediatric critical care transfers.
• A new pediatric inpatient gym that provides the space and equipment necessary for patients to rehabilitate.
• An uplifting, child-friendly environment to promote healing.
