JVI uses the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for the application process and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) matching process for ranking applicants. You'll need to register with ERAS and the NRMP.
A complete ERAS application includes research experience, publications/presentations, and picture ID, and the form must include the following data:
ACGME and Osteopathic general surgery residents' application requirements
- Personal goals statement
- At least three letters of recommendation
- Copy of medical school diploma and current ATLS, ACLS and BLS certification
- Cell phone number and email address
- Copy of all licensure you hold or have held. This should include license number and expiration date of current state-issued license (this can be a state training certificate)
- National Provider Number (NPI)
- ECFMG certificate
In addition to the above:
ACGME general surgery resident applicants
- American Board of Surgery VSITE scores – at least 3 years
- United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE): Steps: 1, 2CK, 2CS and 3 (step 3 would be required prior to starting vascular surgery fellowship)
Osteopathic ACGME general surgery resident applicants (program must have at least 3 years of initial ACGME accreditation)
- Osteopathic Surgical Basic Science Examinations – at least 3 years
- COMLEX scores
